§1694. Identification of priority chemicals Effective July 1, 2012, a chemical is eligible for designation as a priority chemical only if that chemical has been identified and listed as a chemical of high concern pursuant to section 1693‑A. [PL 2011, c. 319, §5 (NEW).]1. Criteria. The department may designate a chemical of high concern as a priority chemical if the commissioner finds, in concurrence with the Department of Health and Human Services, Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention: A. The commissioner shall designate at least 2 priority chemicals by January 1, 2011. The department may designate additional priority chemicals if the commissioner finds that the chemicals meet one of the criteria listed in subsection 1.
