§12012. Members from other branches of government Persons who serve in any branch of State Government may serve on a board that is solely advisory in authority. A person who serves in a branch of State Government may serve on a board of another branch of State Government as a nonvoting member in an advisory capacity only if that board is not solely advisory in authority. A person who serves in a branch of State Government may serve on any board that is solely advisory in authority, unless specifically prohibited by another provision of law. It may not have the authority to control expenditures, issue rules, approve decisions of other agencies or officials or enforce its decisions or recommendations.
