Maryland Legal Code
(a) There is a nonbeverage permit. (b) The permit authorizes the holder to purchase alcohol and alcoholic beverages for: (1) use in compounding or manufacturing flavoring extracts; (2) medicinal, antiseptic, or toilet preparations or for other similar purposes; (3) scientific or laboratory purposes; (4) flavoring food products; or (5) sale by pharmacists on the written prescription of a qualified physician. (c) The permit holder may not use, sell, or deliver: (1) alcoholic beverages for beverage purposes; or (2) any other product that is: (i) produced with alcoholic beverages; and (ii) fit for beverage purposes. (d) The permit does not expire until it is revoked. (e) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, the fee for the issuance or renewal of the permit is $50. (2) The Executive Director shall issue the permit without the payment of a fee to: (i) a charitable organization; or (ii) a holder of a fuel–alcohol permit.
