Section 32-303 - Membership

(a) The Governor shall appoint three members to the Liquor Control Board with the advice and consent of the Senate. (b) Each member of the Liquor Control Board shall be: (1) a resident and voter in the county; and (2) an individual of high character, integrity, and recognized business capacity. (c) (1) A member of the Liquor Control Board may not: (i) have a direct or indirect financial interest in the manufacture or sale of alcoholic beverages; or (ii) derive profit or remuneration from the sale of alcoholic beverages other than the salary or wages payable for the discharge of the duties of the office. (2) A person who violates this paragraph is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $2,000 or both. (d) The term of a member is 2 years and begins on July 1. (e) If a vacancy occurs, it shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment.
