(a) A person who violates any provision of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both. (b) The fines assessed under §§ 18-309 and 18-3A-09 of this title may not exceed $5,000 per violation and shall be paid to the Secretary within 10 days after final adjudication of any hearing or the waiver of any hearing.
