Section 15-401 - Compensation -- in General

(a) (1) The State’s Attorney for a county shall receive: (i) an annual salary for performing the duties of the office as set forth in the public general laws and the public local laws of the county; and (ii) an annual payment for office, travel, and other expenses as provided by law and the current practice of the county. (2) Unless otherwise specified, a county shall pay the salary and expenses in equal monthly installments. (b) (1) Except for necessary travel and other expenses incurred in trying a case removed to another county, a State’s Attorney may not receive any other compensation for performing the duties of the office. (2) Any fees to which the State’s Attorney may be entitled shall be: (i) collected and paid to the governing body of the county; and (ii) credited to the general fund of the county.
