Section 2-101 - Duties of Secretary

(a) (1) The Secretary is the head of economic development policy and implementation efforts in the State. (2) The Secretary is the head of and is responsible for the operations of the Department of Commerce established under Title 2.5 of this article. (b) (1) The Secretary also monitors the operations of: (i) the Maryland Economic Development Corporation established under Title 10, Subtitle 1 of this article; (ii) the Maryland Technology Development Corporation established under Title 10, Subtitle 4 of this article; and (iii) the Maryland Public–Private Partnership Marketing Corporation established under Title 10, Subtitle 9 of this article. (2) Nothing in this subsection may be construed to limit the independence or operations of these corporations.
