Section 8-105 - Comprehensive Compensatory Education Plan

Each county board that applies for State funds under this subtitle shall include a comprehensive compensatory education plan in its application that: (1) Emphasizes a preventive program aimed at disadvantaged or potentially disadvantaged children; and (2) Has as an ultimate goal: (i) Teaching disadvantaged or potentially disadvantaged children to read; (ii) Awakening their interest in learning; (iii) Giving them a sense of success in school achievement; (iv) Preventing their alienation from the school; and (v) Preventing their early departure from school.
