(a) This section applies only to an institution of higher education that awards a degree that an individual may use to meet the educational requirements for licensure under the Health Occupations Article as a physician, advanced practice nurse, dentist, physician assistant, or podiatrist. (b) An institution of higher education subject to this section shall offer instruction in substance use disorders, effective treatment for substance use disorders, and pain management.
