Section 18-2001 - Definitions

(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated. (b) 'Office' means the Office of Student Financial Assistance as defined in § 18-101(c) of this title. (c) 'Regular undergraduate program' means an academic program of study in an institution of higher education at or below the baccalaureate level leading to either an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree. (d) (1) 'Service obligation' means employment in the State in an occupation directly related to the eligible program of study as determined by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. (2) 'Service obligation' does not mean paid student internships, paid fellowships, or volunteer service.
