Section 24-1211 - Applicability of Immunity

(a) If the University establishes a police department under this subtitle, the University, the police department, and the officers, employees, and agents of the University or police department: (1) Are not entitled to immunity under Title 5, Subtitle 3 of the Courts Article (Local Government Tort Claims Act), Title 12, Subtitle 1 of the State Government Article (Maryland Tort Claims Act), or common law public official immunity; and (2) May not raise the defense of sovereign immunity. (b) No action may be maintained against the State for the conduct or other acts of the University, the police department, or the officers, employees, or agents of the University or police department.
