Section 5-531 - Out-of-Home Placement and Foster Care -- Payment of Funeral Expenses

(a) A local department may pay reasonable funeral expenses, not exceeding $650, for a child who was receiving foster care under this subtitle, if: (1) no individual who was legally responsible for the support of the child is able to pay; and (2) other resources, including insurance benefits or the child’s estate, are insufficient.
