Section 15-125 - Program for Children With Special Health Care Needs

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated. (2) 'Children' means individuals under the age of 12 years. (3) 'Youth' means an individual at least 12 years old and under the age of 22 years. (b) The Department is the agency of this State to administer a program of services for children and youth who have or are suspected of having special health care needs. (c) The purpose of this program is to provide reimbursement for medical, diagnostic, corrective, and other services and care to children and youth who have or are suspected of having special health care needs. (d) The Department may: (1) Prepare and administer detailed plans for these purposes; (2) Adopt rules and regulations for administering these plans; (3) Receive and, in accordance with these plans, spend all funds made available to the Department for these purposes; and (4) Cooperate with the federal government in extending and improving these services and in administering these plans.
