Section 19-108 - Regulations Specifying Comprehensive Standard Health Benefit Plan

(a) In addition to the duties set forth elsewhere in this subtitle, the Commission: (1) Shall adopt regulations specifying the Comprehensive Standard Health Benefit Plan to apply under Title 15, Subtitle 12 of the Insurance Article; and (2) On or before March 1, 2008, in consultation with the Department, shall propose regulations to: (i) Specify the components of wellness benefits, offered under Title 15, Subtitle 12 of the Insurance Article, that include incentives or differential cost–sharing for employees based on their participation in wellness activities; and (ii) Require small employers receiving a subsidy of small employer health benefit plan premium contributions under Title 15, Subtitle 12A of the Insurance Article to agree to purchase a wellness benefit. (b) In carrying out its duties under this section, the Commission shall comply with the provisions of § 15–1207 and Title 15, Subtitle 12A of the Insurance Article.
