Section 20-2002 - Peritoneal Dialysis or Hemodialysis Treatment Services Prohibited by Untrained Individuals -- Violations -- Adoption of Regulations

(a) A health care facility may not provide peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis treatment services unless the individual performing the dialysis procedure has received training in the peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis technique being performed. (b) A person who violates subsection (a) of this section is subject to a civil penalty imposed by the Department not exceeding $5,000 for each violation. (c) The Department shall adopt regulations to carry out this section.
