(a) The Board shall investigate any complaint filed with the Board that alleges that there are grounds for action under § 14–5F–18 of this subtitle. (b) After the Board’s investigation, the Board or a disciplinary panel, on the affirmative vote of a majority of its members then serving, may commence action on any of the grounds set forth in § 14–5F–18 of this subtitle. (c) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, until the Board or a disciplinary panel passes an order under § 14–5F–22 of this subtitle, each related investigation, report, and recommendation is confidential. (2) On the request of a person who has made a complaint to the Board, the Board shall provide the person with information on the status of the complaint.
