(a) (1) The Board shall adopt a code of ethics for psychologists and psychology associates in this State. (2) The code of ethics adopted under paragraph (1) of this subsection shall be designed to protect the public interest. (b) In adopting the code of ethics, the Board shall consider: (1) The ethical standards of psychologists published by the American Psychological Association; and (2) The professional character of psychological services. (c) In adopting the code of ethics, the Board shall announce and hold public hearings on the subject.
