Section 5-403 - Penalties for Violations

(a) A person who violates § 5–401 or § 5–402 of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both. (b) A person who violates § 5–401 or § 5–402 of this subtitle is subject to a civil fine not to exceed $50,000 to be assessed by the Board in accordance with regulations adopted by the Board.
