(a) With the approval of the Governor, the Secretary shall appoint the Director. (b) The Director serves at the pleasure of the Secretary. (c) The position of Director is in the executive service or management service of the State Personnel Management System. (d) The Director shall operate and exercise the powers of the Administration under the direction of the Secretary and in accordance with this subtitle. (e) The Director is entitled to: (1) compensation as provided in the State budget; and (2) reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations as provided in the State budget. (f) The Director shall have a staff and professional consultants as provided in the State budget.
