(a) Each volunteer deputy sheriff of Cecil County is a covered employee while performing work assigned by the sheriff of the county. (b) Each volunteer police officer of Frederick County is a covered employee entitled to medical benefits under §§ 9–660 and 9–661 of this title while performing work assigned by the Sheriff of Frederick County. (c) Each auxiliary volunteer of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office is a covered employee while performing work assigned by the Sheriff of the county.
