Section 1-1501 - School Construction Permits

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated. (2) (i) 'Construction' means the process of building, altering, repairing, renovating, improving, or demolishing any structure, building, or other improvement to real property. (ii) 'Construction' includes systemic renovation projects as defined in COMAR 23.03.02.15. (3) 'School facility' means a structure, a building, a parking facility, an athletic facility, a testing facility, or any other facility in the State that is used for the education of students. (b) To the extent practicable, each county or municipality shall expedite the process for the application and issuance of a permit related to or required for the construction of a public or private school facility.
