(a) This section does not apply in Garrett County or Washington County. (b) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle and paragraph (2) of this subsection, a person who violates this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 30 days or a fine of not less than $5 and not exceeding $25 or both. (2) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, in Calvert County, a person who violates this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 60 days or a fine of $50 or both.
