Section 16-116 - Washington County -- Insufficient Funds

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated. (2) 'Check' has the meaning stated in § 8–101 of the Criminal Law Article. (3) 'Insufficient funds' means insufficient funds as described in § 8–102 of the Criminal Law Article. (b) The provisions of §§ 9–105 and 9–106 of this article apply to an act, an ordinance, or a resolution adopted under this section. (c) (1) The County Commissioners of Washington County may impose a fee for each check that is presented in payment of any obligation to the county and is dishonored due to insufficient funds. (2) The county commissioners shall determine the amount of the fee imposed under this section.
