(a) There is a State Aid for Police Protection Fund. (b) The Fund provides a continuing grant from the General Fund of the State that shall be used exclusively to provide adequate police protection in the counties and qualifying municipalities through the sharing of costs on an equitable basis within certain limits related to population factors.
