(a) A person may not knowingly violate this subtitle. (b) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, a person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 days or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both. (2) A person who violates § 9–106.1 of this subtitle is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000.
