Maryland Legal Code
(a) The Department of General Services shall assist the Department of Budget and Management: (1) in developing technical details necessary for the preparation of the Capital Improvement Program for any unit of the State government; and (2) in any regional study relating to land acquisition, dedication, lease, transfer, and the like. (b) The Department shall assist and advise any unit of the State government, including the Board of Public Works: (1) in the review and approval of any change to a contract, plan, or specification for a public improvement; and (2) on any engineering matter, survey, plan, specification, or contract for a public improvement or land acquisition that: (i) may come before the Board of Public Works; or (ii) may be of interest to the unit of the State government. (c) The Department shall enforce the State Building Code.
