Section 14-415 - Recycling Electronic Products

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated. (2) 'Certified e–Stewards recycler' means a recycler of electronic products that has successfully completed the e–Stewards certification program created by the Basel Action Network. (3) 'Electronic product' means a product recycled by: (i) a certified e–Stewards recycler; (ii) a R2 certified recycler; or (iii) a recycler of electronic products that meets nationally recognized and consensus–based guidelines, standards, and systems for recycling that are approved by the Department of the Environment in consultation with the Department of General Services. (4) 'R2 certified recycler' means a recycler of electronic products that is certified in the R2 Practices Standards that are maintained by R2 Solutions. (b) On or after October 1, 2014, when awarding a procurement contract for services to recycle electronic products, a State unit shall award the contract to a recycler of electronic products that: (1) is R2 or e–Stewards certified; or (2) meets nationally recognized and consensus–based guidelines, standards, and systems for recycling that are approved by the Department of the Environment in consultation with

Stewards certified; or (2) meets nationally recognized and consensus–based guidelines, standards, and systems for recycling that are approved by the Department of the Environment in consultation with the Department of General Services.
