Maryland Legal Code
(a) If a public body does not comply with a provision of this subtitle, the Commissioner: (1) shall give written notice of the noncompliance to the public body; (2) may require compliance within a sufficient period as determined by the Commissioner; and (3) after the expiration of that period, may inform the Attorney General in writing that notice has been given and that the public body has not complied with the notice. (b) As soon as possible after being informed by the Commissioner, the Attorney General shall sue, in the name of the State, in the circuit court for the county where the public body is located to seek any remedies that the court may find appropriate to carry out the policies of this subtitle. (c) In the action, the State and the public body each shall have the right of appeal that is provided by law in an injunction proceeding.
