Section 18-203 - Performance of Notarial Act

(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a notarial officer may perform a notarial act authorized by the laws of the State. (b) (1) A notarial officer may not perform a notarial act with respect to a record to which the notarial officer or the spouse of the notarial officer is a party, or in which either the notarial officer or the spouse of the notarial officer has a direct beneficial interest. (2) A notarial act performed in violation of paragraph (1) of this subsection is voidable. (c) A notarial officer may certify that a tangible copy of an electronic record is an accurate copy of the electronic record.
