(a) The Governor may designate another individual to receive bills while the Governor is ill or necessarily absent from the seat of the State government. (b) A designation under this section: (1) shall be in writing; (2) shall be sent to the presiding officer of the Senate and the presiding officer of the House; (3) on receipt by those officers, shall be entered in full in the Senate journal and the House journal; and (4) is effective during the period that the Governor specifies.
