(a) Payment for sick leave taken under this subtitle for personal illness or disability constitutes a separate benefit on account of sickness and is not a continuation of salary. (b) Payment for sick leave taken under this subtitle for any reason not specified in subsection (a) of this section is a continuation of salary.
