Section 13-502 - Transferee Must Secure New Registration

(a) Except as otherwise permitted in this subtitle, before the transferee of a registered vehicle may drive a vehicle on a highway, the transferee shall apply for and obtain a new registration of the vehicle, as on an original registration. (b) Except as otherwise permitted in this subtitle, before the transferee of a registered vehicle may permit the vehicle to be driven on a highway, the transferee shall apply for and obtain a new registration of the vehicle, as on an original registration. (c) If the vehicle is not driven on a highway, however, the vehicle need not be registered.
