§ 65i

Any judge may, voluntarily and on his own initiative, apply for an allowance under the provisions of section six or seven, and, if found eligible for such allowance under the provisions of such sections, may, without an order of the governor or the consent of his council, receive such an allowance upon the terms applicable to a member classified in Group I in lieu of any other retirement allowance for which he might otherwise be eligible.
