The register of deeds for Norfolk county may, by a writing recorded in his registry, designate one of the persons employed therein as second assistant register who shall serve at the pleasure of such register and may also so designate one of the persons employed therein as administrative assistant who shall serve at the pleasure of such register and be compensated at the same rate allowed for the second assistant register.
