It may establish, foster, and give such aid and assistance as it deems necessary for the establishment and maintenance of out-patient and diagnostic facilities for tuberculosis within tuberculosis hospitals, in other institutions, or in collaboration with local boards of health. It shall provide co-ordination and consultation to local boards of health in gathering and disseminating information on a state-wide basis regarding the prevalence of tuberculosis in the commonwealth.
