§ 82

In counties containing two or more shire towns, the supreme judicial or the superior court at the sitting held on or next after the filing of the defendant's answer may designate the shire town where the action shall be tried, and it shall not then be put on the trial list for sittings held in any other town of that county except by agreement of the parties.
