12.10 Vacancy in office of state treasurer; audit. Sec. 10. Upon the death or resignation of the state treasurer, or upon a vacancy in the office of state treasurer from any other cause, the auditor general shall perform an audit of cash and securities in the possession or under the control of the state treasurer.
