168.206a County officers; death before commencement of term. Sec. 206a. Whenever any person elected to the office of county clerk, county treasurer, register of deeds, prosecuting attorney, sheriff, drain commissioner, surveyor or coroner in any county shall die before the commencement of the term for which he was elected, there shall be a vacancy for the term to which such person was elected to be filled according to law.
