257.217e Certificate of title for school bus; condition to issuance. Sec. 217e. A certificate of title for a school bus shall be issued to a school board that has purchased the school bus by the secretary of state only after a manufacturer's statement of origin has been provided to the secretary of state. If the body and chassis of a school bus are not built by the same manufacturer, a certificate of title for the school bus shall be issued to a school board by the secretary of state only after a manufacturer's statement of origin has been provided by the body dealer and chassis dealer to the secretary of state.
