257.791c Animals, other than service or qualified animals prohibited on or in streetcar or station; violation as civil infraction; definitions.Sec. 791c. (1) A person shall not bring, carry, or transport an animal other than a service animal or qualified animal on a streetcar or in any area of a station used by a street railway system. (2) A person who violates this section is responsible for a civil infraction. (3) As used in this section: (a) 'Qualified animal' means an animal that is not more than 25 pounds and is controlled in a cage. (b) 'Service animal' means that term as defined in section 502c of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.502c. History: Add. 2021, Act 43, Imd. Eff. July 1, 2021
