3.713 Definitions. Sec. 3. As used in the interstate compact on the placement of children: (a) 'Appropriate public authorities' with reference to this state means the department of social services and that department shall receive and act with reference to notices required by Article III of the compact. (b) 'Appropriate authority in the receiving state' with reference to this state means the director of social services. (c) 'Executive head' with reference to this state means the governor, who may appoint a compact administrator in accordance with Article VII of the compact. History: 1984, Act 114, Imd. Eff.
