324.11716 Certification of city, county, and district departments of health to carry out powers and duties.Sec. 11716. (1) The department may certify a city, county, or district health department to carry out certain powers and duties of the department under this part. (2) If a certified health department does not exist in a city, county, or district or does not fulfill its responsibilities under this part, the department may contract with qualified third parties to carry out certain responsibilities of the department under this part in that city, county, or district. (3) The department and each certified health department or third party that will carry out powers or duties of the department under this part shall enter a memorandum of understanding or contract describing those powers and duties and providing for compensation to be paid by the department from the fund to the certified health department or third party.
