324.30926 Advertising for bids; letting of contracts; work relief project. Sec. 30926. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), the chairperson of the lake board shall advertise for bids. A contract shall be let to the lowest bidder giving adequate security for the performance of the contract, but the lake board shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids. (2) The lake board may let a contract with a local, incorporated, nonprofit homeowner association, the membership of which is open on a nondiscriminatory basis to all residents within the geographic area to be assessed or serviced, without advertising for public bids. The homeowner association shall give adequate security for the performance of the contract. (3) The local governing body may improve a lake as a work relief project pursuant to applicable provisions of law. History: Add. 1995, Act 59, Imd. Eff.
