324.63505 Exclusive jurisdiction of department over surface coal mining and reclamation operations in state; construction of part. Sec. 63505. The department has exclusive jurisdiction over all surface coal mining and reclamation operations in this state. This part shall not be construed as preempting a zoning ordinance enacted by a local unit of government or impairing a land use plan adopted pursuant to a law of this state by a local unit of government.
