324.63509 Participation in abandoned mines reclamation fund established by title IV of surface mining control and reclamation act of 1977; authorization; action; procedures. Sec. 63509. The department is authorized to take all action necessary to ensure participation to the fullest extent practicable in the abandoned mines reclamation fund established by title IV of the surface mining control and reclamation act of 1977, and to function as the state's agency for that participation relative to coal mining. Pursuant to this part and title IV of the surface mining control and reclamation act of 1977, the department shall establish procedures for the designation of the land and water eligible for reclamation or abatement expenditures; for the submission of reclamation plans, annual projects, and applications to the appropriate authorities pursuant to the terms of this part and title IV of the surface mining control and reclamation act of 1977; and for the administration of all money received for abandoned mine reclamation or related purposes.
