324.63710 Extraction of sand or other minerals by state. Sec. 63710. The state or an instrumentality of the state shall not engage in the extraction of sand or other minerals from a sand dune area, except as required in the interest of public health and safety in an emergency situation resulting from a disaster as defined in section 2 of the emergency preparedness act, Act No. 390 of the Public Acts of 1976, being section 30.402 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
