330.1142 Compliance with nondiscriminatory laws. Sec. 142. The governing body of a facility licensed under sections 134 through 150 shall certify to the department of mental health that its policies, procedures, and practices are consistent with the Americans with disabilities act of 1990, Public Law 101-336, 104 Stat. 327, the rehabilitation act of 1973, Public Law 93-112, 87 Stat. 355, the Elliott-Larsen civil rights act, Act No. 453 of the Public Acts of 1976, being sections 37.2101 to 37.2804 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, and the Michigan handicappers' civil rights act, Act No. 220 of the Public Acts of 1976, being sections 37.1101 to 37.1607 of the Michigan Compiled Laws. The governing body shall direct the administrator of the facility to take such action as is necessary to assure that the facility adheres to all of the nondiscriminatory laws described in this section.
