333.10116 Purchase or sale of body part for transplantation or therapy; violation as felony; penalty; exception.Sec. 10116. (1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (2), a person that for valuable consideration knowingly purchases or sells a body part for transplantation or therapy if removal of the body part from an individual is intended to occur after the individual's death is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years or a fine of not more than $50,000.00, or both. (2) A person may charge a reasonable amount for the removal, processing, preservation, quality control, storage, transportation, implantation, or disposal of a body part.
