§ 333.17231

333.17231 Honorary license; 'advanced illness' defined; name of section.Sec. 17231. (1) The department, in consultation with the board, may issue an honorary license to an individual, living or deceased, who has met all of the requirements of this part to be eligible for a license except for passage of an examination and who is unable to take the examination due to advanced illness. An honorary license issued under this section does not confer any right to engage in the practice of nursing. (2) As used in this section, 'advanced illness' means that term as defined in section 5653. (3) This section may be referred to as 'Katie Viger's law'. History: Add. 2010, Act 15, Imd. Eff.
