333.2876 Preservation of vital records and vital statistics; procedures. Sec. 2876. The department shall provide by electronic or other means or by reproduction pursuant to the records media act for the preservation of vital records and vital statistics made or received by the department. Procedures shall be consistent with those established under the authority of part 26. The procedures shall require that vital records be stored in a manner reasonably calculated to assure the indefinite preservation of the information contained in the vital records against loss or destruction.
